Turn Falsetto into full voice and strengthen your mix voice
Many people find it emotional devastating when they are unable to properly connect their voice and make it sound like pop stars on the radio. I know this was my biggest problem. Often times you will find yourself singing and then, when that high note comes, you break into falsetto or the sound becomes wimpy and weak. Most people emotionally break down when this happens, I know because it happened to me.
So it was very important to me to stop this stupid occurance of breaking into falsetto when I didn’t want to; and, making my mix voice even stronger. Through my experience and research I came across an exercise that will do just what the title of this article says it will. This exercise saved my singing life and made the playing field level for people whom I thought were just always gifted.
The exercise is none other than the vocal fry. However, there is a specific way of doing this exercise that will maximize the benefits for which it may provide. So first of all you need to go to my singing techniques page and learn the vocal fry. Then go to my singing lessons page and practice it to a piano. Then continue on. Now once you are able to do the vocal fry from the bottom of your range to the top, continuously, you are now able to practice this technique properly. Listen carefully, I want you to sing a whole song in vocal fry at this point. Also, I want you to sing your high notes in, falsetto, WHILE DOING VOCAL FRY!!!!
OK, now can you do it. Do some of your high C’s, D’s, and E’s with vocal fry, in falsetto-go ahead and do it
now. Now that you’ve done that I would like to let you in on a little secret. When you do these vocal fry’s you are not in falsetto!!! It’s impossible! That’s the secret!!! If you ever want to access your mix, or full voice, then you add a vocal fry to the areas you have trouble. Literally, after you do this exercise for a while you are going to notice how the vocal fry shapes your voice and decreases tension. It’s so easy isn’t it? This is an exercise that every good singer must master. Anytime your having a bad vocal day, you can’t get a high note, you wanna sing like a pop star, then this is what you do.
I know it is going to seem ridiculous at first, and it is going to sound extremely wierd and annoying, but for those who keep practicing the exercise will see the benefit. Don’t you want to be one of those people who get their vocal breakthroughs? Then keep it up. This is a million dollar secret given away to you free of charge!!!
